Moms Rocket
"The Olympia-based quartet… rock(s) with an attitude. With basic rock 'n' roll chord structures, hard crashing rhythms and plenty of volume, Moms Rocket are an in-your-face kind of band. With just a little twang, they are a bit like Lynyrd Skynyrd on steroids".
— Tony Engelhart, Weekly Volcano, Jan 31, 2008

Chucky
This year SPMC is doing something totally new and different -- we are bringing in 'Chucky' the devil of the TV Show "Hell Date" -- Yup, rumor has it we are puttin' on a little fest out there in Montana, so we thought we'd get ourselves a little MC --

Big Fat Alice
The powerful vocal ability of Frank Cruz has allowed Big Fat Alice to stand out among the Pacific Northwest rock crowd. Cruz is a talented singer-songwriter with straight-up in-your-face singing with attitude — Heavy and melodic are the two words tossed around most when describing the group, but there is clearly a wide range of influences from swirling guitar harmonies similar to the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Thin Lizzy on steroids, to the buzzsaw rhythms of Metallica and Velvet Revolver — Big Fat Alice's sound truly satisfies the whole pallete of rock 'n' roll taste.

Buttafüko
Experience the freedom of trash punk dressed in plaid -- and my band manager says they're awesome. She is, of course, now scheduled for a new visit with her psychotherapist. That aside, a shortened history of Buttafüko is as follows: "The countless years that Rod spent at cosmetology school would go to waste but the years he spent smoking opium and learning to play the sitar would not ... They decided that they would choose the leader of the band as any great decisions for leader are made: A no holds barred, hardcore cage match .... He was then about to deliver the coup-de-grace when he noticed something strange -- The thumb tacks sticking out of the Jackal's back spelled out the word Buttafüko. Yes....yes it was all clear to him now...... the band must be named Buttafüko. A bright light beamed down from the heavens, angels sang, there were cheetos and handjobs for everybody. And after all that the awesome music of Buttafüko still sounds like, basically, shit. But good shit." |

Midstokke
Rock and roll never died, it was just sold out by the big wig record execs, and with the explosion of digital music, the fans are back in charge of what they want to listen to -- Midstokke offers something for everyone, from straight forward rock and roll, to power blues, to funk, and all of it comes across with genuine emotion that people connect with. The two guitarists are true products of classic rock, channeling everything from Aerosmith to ZZ Top, scathing solos and all. Complimented by a high energy, harmonica playing front man, and grounded by a rock hard rhythm section, Midstokke is a force to be reckoned with!

Undun
Undun are the slag pile of Montana's music scene; dark dank mounds of sharp edged rock spewing from pristine, country hillsides, Like slag. Undun are the by products of over-processed rock; stripped of supposed worth and tossed aside by the undiscerning. However they both possess value. Each speaks to the darker side of nature, evidence of man's greed and waste. Neither can be ignored.

Pure Hatred
The first question from everyone who first discovers us is: "Why are you called Pure Hatred?" And then you can read it on their faces, see their mind engaging. Sometimes they try to guess what the name means before we can even answer.
"Are you some sort of politically radical band?"
"Maybe your a racist band?"
"I'll bet you're neo-nazis..."
Those are not the answer. The most important part of the name is the first word: "Pure". What does it mean?"Without contamination" is ironically, the purest definition. Then the second word "Hatred" is best defined as "a feeling of dislike so strong that it demands action " Then you add them together and you get this: "Pure Hatred is: a feeling, without contamination, of dislike so strong that it demands action"
This is Pure Hatred. |

Wolf Redboy
Grab your towel because Wolf Redboy is creating somewhat of a splash in the local music scene around Missoula, MT. With its stripped-down sound, erudite lyrics and Redboy's gutsy and edgy vocal work, this is a band that seems destined for something bigger than the occasional gig around town. Wolf Redboy has been recording their first CD titled Poison to The Artists with Habbilis Records in Missoula, MT. Wolf Redboy's CD will be mixed by John Hanlon who is known for his production with Neil Young, REM and The Killers, and has also mixed Gillian Welch's Revival CD. Redboy is the real deal, with a crisp and salty tenor and a songwriting style that's both bizarre, fun and accessible -- it's a style that Amanda Cevallos, bass player and manager for the band, calls "polk" - punk and folk. Their new sound is certainly something to look forward to -- adapted from Jamie Kelly of the Missoulian |

Demon Funkies
Demon Funkies arrived on Earth in 2003 with an extreme distaste for the average and reserved. Their unique energy, passionate songs, and always-fresh approach make them memorable on every occasion. Demon Funkies believe in unity, entertainment, fun, and outlandish good times! In a world where mediocre music and performance means time wasted, Demon Funkies sweat hard to create inspiration and a musical experience everyone will remember with a smile. Their original music is made with a fiercely authentic heart and a true soul is the vehicle of their accomplishment. They are known for their powerful music, authentic tones, huge energy, and frankly ravish flamboyance. "Demon Funkies is an animated band that love to interact with the audience -- jumping down onto the floor, dancing, throwing out Snikers, whatever it takes ... By the third song, people get the vibe .... They are party songs ..." -- Denver Daily News, Entertainment Section, Jan 2006 .

Blessiddoom
The sonic assault of Blessiddoom covers topics ranging from apathy, fear, religion, government, rage, love and inspiration -- but mostly their music is a metal rage stemming from Blessiddoom's grim point of view for today and the future. Blessiddoom is a blessed throwback to they heyday of hardcore metal grinding out a shrill and cacophonous sound, joyfully reveling in the dark and angry themes of hardcore metal -- a full-on hardcore black hair and black lyrics, head banging extreme. Their music is definitely not for everyone, but then again it's not meant to be. -- adapted from Jamie Kelly, Missoulian, 2007. |

Amanda Cevallos
Experiance the haunting vocals and true heart of Amanda Cevallos --
not only is she a wonderful vocalist but she will also MC much of the
event this year -- come to SPMC and you will come to know Amanda
Cevallos. |

Shroud of Desolation
This new Seattle band on the scene is "like they took old school rock
and roll and smashed it with a twisted Grunge-Rock-Metal machine" ...
"It would probably scare your mother, but your kids would enjoy --
their head banging is reminiscent of Tool and their ballads smacks
heavy of Extreme" ..."The crowd was like -- HAH! But the farmers were
pissed" ... "They can rock a threshold of pain -- and then smooth your
wound with a ballad shift" ... That is the Shroud Of Desolation ... |

|
FADOM
Influenced by the metal rock of Texas based Pantera, FADOM is
homegrown Washington State whiskey drinkin' mother fuckers who plan to
rape your eardrums and chow on your ass meats -- watch out and stand
back! Â FADOM is five strong with Erik and Jeff on Guitar, Matt on
drums, Cameron Smith as lead singer, Levi Rishki on bass, and R&R
somewhere out there killin' brain cells -- but always still a major
part of the band. |

Mahamuwaldi
The hardcore death metal show of Mahamuwaldi looks like nothing you've
ever seen before featuring a tattooed one-armed bass player thrashing
out noise and sound. The three social degenerates of Mahamuwaldi are
known for blasting out mad notes straight from "Satan's ass crack,"
they tell me, and with some innocent surprise, "You wouldn't believe
the hate mail we've gotten lately; What's even better is when we try
to book a show out here." -- huh ... Well, this is independent music.

Andrea Harsell
Andrea Harsell has been bringing her vibrant performing style and
exceptional songwriting to audiences around the country for over ten
years. With a powerful, supple voice and a passel of outstanding
original songs, Andrea's music defies categorization; she moves freely
between bluegrass, folk, country, and rock 'n roll. Andrea has some of
the "best songwriting to be heard in town." -- Missoula Independent;
"She is exceptional…bound for the top." -- Local radio personality
Tony Ravioli. Whether she's on stage alone or kicking out the jams as
front woman of her rocking band, Andrea embodies the best of both
worlds. |

Inspired
Four individuals from Post Falls Idaho who each have very different
opinions about this world and the wonders contained both inside and
outside of it: We have come together on a common idea that each of our
parts equally portray and express our own creative intent of that
which inspires us to go on each day and to translate that into a
progressive noise. Every member has a different upbringing in the
music world and, therefore, we all try to find a medium in our music
with which to combine our talents and fulfill the rich, textured
sounds we strive to create. We are Inspired... |

Black Velvet Elvis
Two becomes three as Joe Danger, formerly of The International Playboys, joins the lineup as the replacement of Ichabod, the intersex
drum machine. The prominent musical influences of Black Velvet Elvis
include: Nascar (the activity of the hating of), taco-serving non-taco
restaurants, sunglasses at night, lipstick, mustaches, robots made out
of lettuce, and PBR. Â Black Velvet Elvis sounds like: Courtney Love
and Glenn Danzig had a love child who listened to a shit ton of Chris
Isaak and Motley Crue, grew up with a thing for The Sonics and ABBA,
and said their marriage vows as Lita Ford's "Kiss Me Deadly" played in
the background...

Nothing Special
There are a few special things about Nothing Special -- notably they
are a thrash band of Blackfeet Indians with a unique style of down
tempo work. Â Be careful or they will take you by surprise -- they will
lull you in with a nice soft ballad before suddenly pouncing on your
senses with full on metal-trash. Â But it certainly does make for
something special out of Nothing Special. |

Lazerwolfs
LAZERWOLFS are a heavy rock trio based in Missoula that plays
stripped-down, high octane rock as loudly as they can get away with.
The band has released two albums so far, 2002's "GET MAD" and 2006's"NAVAJA AUTOMATICA." Their third release, "LA BRUJA," is slated for
release on June 10th, 2008, with a lightning tour of the Midwestern
USA to follow.  Chris La Tray - Bass/Vocals  Jimmy Rolle -

Celestial Chaos
Celestial Chaos is a bluesy hard rock band with a funky metallic edge.
On lead and rhythm guitar, they have Josh Rhines, who's crunchy riffs
and solos bring you back to the days where guitar gods reigned
supreme. On bass guitar is Rob Sullivan, who breaks away from the
boring standard of root notes, in favor of a funkified approach to the
low end and inspiring groove. Jake Fine's howlin' vocals bring back
the true roots of rock 'n roll, bluesy and soulful as can be. Collin
Scott's powerful assault on the drums is nothing to take lightly, as
his hard hitting and rockin' beats provide the backbone of the rock
monster, Celestial Chaos. Celestial Chaos turns it up to 11. Will you
be part of the revolution? |

|
Adam Minor
After toiling away for years as a Blues/Rock band in Memphis, Adam
Minor soared to the top of the rock scene in 2006 with their debut
album, Detroit Blues. The band's latest album, Bad Little Girl, weaves
Adam Minor's melodramatic vocal work with uncorked riffs to evoke an
album highlighting rock and roll at its finest. With standout tracks
like "Glitter & Gold," already certified platinum in Europe, one thing
Adam Minor can count on is a future of success. |

Stein
Zany knick knacks of the Missoula community bang elbows and deploy a
parade of genre smearing songs that combine musical craftsmanship with
hilarity, insanity and uncanny moments of confusion. |

|
SKWiSH
"Comprised of well seasoned musicians from different bands since the early 90's (Unearth, Seditionaries and Worm Tongue) SKWiSH are not only long time friends but also 4 equally talented and prolific songsmiths. As well as being songwriters of equal caliber, in many ways they are also just as dynamically diverse yet complimentary to one another. Culminating in a sound (a sonic spanking of sorts) that is as new and unique as it is familiar and nostalgic at times. The new 7 song EP from SKWiSH (engineered by: Conrad Uno @ Egg Studios) is proof positive of their ability to give it to you right in the ear!"

Fred Crase
As both a classically trained metalhead and a school-of-rock
classicist hailing from Butte, MT, Fred Crase has been dedicated to
bringing the rich textures and delicate beauty of more formal
composition to the brutal world of metal, and he does it all himself.
All vocal, drum, bass, guitar, and occasional piano, mandolin, and
banjo tracks are written and performed by him and him alone in his
tiny basement studio. By himself, he will also be bringing this mix
of beauty and brutality to life on stage. |

Richie & the Rocketdogs
"The Rocketdogs" is my latest venture. With my feet in both the
electric and acoustic world I feel the need to satisfy my
schizophrenic musical needs with a few of my good musician friends,
(Ted Lowe on rhythm acoustic guitar and harmony vocals; Mike Freemole
on bass; Bruce Threlkeld on drums and Larry Chung on pedal steel
guitar) -- finally I've bent them to my will one more time for this
latest batch of soap-opera songs with an up-tempo party feel -- and
this is the new music of Richie & The Rocket Dogs... |

Kristian Heald
I played my last show in 1998 and have been just playing for my family ever since. I started giving a lot of attention to my music again starting in the summer of 2006 when my Grandfather asked me to write a
song again for the first time in 8 years. So here I am again, Born
again into the music that I loved and lost for no apparent reason.
This time I plan to stay a while... I hope you all love listening to
it as much as I love playing it...... |

iNHUMANS
iNHUMANS did not emerge from the primordial soup like the rest of
earth's inhabitants. They constructed the soup, ate their fill, then
threw away the leftovers, which began to mold and sprout other
lifeforms known as "you." iNHUMANS are the first beings to walk the
planet, and after a time wandering the earth in search of meaning, the
seven members discovered the power of music, a power that, if
harnessed correctly, would be able to feed whole populations or, if
incorrectly, destroy massive quantities of life. It is within this
careful balance that our heroes live out their dreams -- |

Voodoo Horseshoes
The new sound of the Voodoo Horseshoes is like the time when the
Kingston Trio drank too much Robitussin and had a jam session with the
Grateful Dead AND Elvis Costello. Featuring Tony-Mando on guitars and
vocals, Toby on banjos with some didg and some percussion, Chris
thumping bass, guitar, old folk feeder ty-drums, and percussion, and
Justin on congas and timbales. Are you ready for this? |
